Dear Instructors:
There are three main objectives of my blog, which I will update at least on a weekly basis:
Real Time Marketing
I realized early in my career that a lot of material in a text gets outdated the day the text is published. Not so much the theory (although that changes as well as new knowledge is added), but more so the examples in the text. I am going to use this blog to update you on material in the text. In this way I hope to practice the concept of "real time marketing".
Instructors as Heroes
Some people say that when we teach we perform. I find this to be true about myself. I am transformed in front of an audience. I want to use this blog to help instructors look like heroes in front of their students. I am going to do this by posting material that only instructors have access to (updates to theory and examples, implications of updates, questions they can pose to their students, etc.).
A Community of Users
One hallmark of a strong brand is the community of people who use it. I wish to use this blog to build a pool of best practices amongst instructors. Please send me your comments, thoughts, ideas, or suggestions to asirsi@schulich.yorku.ca and I will post your thoughts in a blog. Over time, we will have developed a pool of best practices that we can all share.
