Registration Help for Instructors
How to request access
- On the MyCompLab home page, click the Educator button under "Register."
- Select "No, I don't have an access code" and click "Next."
- Select your country.
- Choose the option that best describes your institution (e.g., "Two- or four-year college or university").
- Enter your email address in the fields provided.
- Select Yes, Agree to Terms.
- Fill out the required fields and click Submit. Your request will be submitted to Pearson for validation to ensure your status as an instructor. If your request is approved, an access code will be sent to the email address you provided.
How to register an access code
- On the MyCompLab home page, click the Educator button under "Register."
- Select "Yes, I have an access code" and click "Next."
- Read the Pearson License Agreement and Privacy Policy and click "I accept."
- Answer the "Do you have a Pearson Education account?" question.
- If Yes – fill in your username and password. This will allow you to use the same username and password you use for your other Pearson products.
- If No – Create a username and password per the guidelines provided.
- If Not Sure – Enter your email address and click Search.
- Check or enter required information in the appropriate fields.
- Review and print your Confirmation and Summary page. A confirmation will also be sent to your email address. Be sure to take note of your username and password.
Getting Started
For your students
If a student redeems the access card packaged with the textbook, they will need:
- Your school's ZIP code.
- Your MyCompLab Course ID
If a student buys access online, they will need:
- Your school's ZIP code
- Your MyCompLab Course ID
- Your version — MyCompLab generic (no eText) or MyCompLab with eText.
- Textbook information — including author, title, and edition.

How to sign in
- Return to the MyCompLab home page.
- Select the MyCompLab screen on the right. It will look like this:

- Enter your username and password.
- Click on the MyCompLab link in the "My Places" section.
How to create a course
- STEP 1 - On the MyLab / Mastering courses page, click Create/Copy Course under My Lab / Mastering New Design.
- STEP 2 - On the Create or Copy a Course page, do one of the following:
- Click Search Course Materials, type an author's name, textbook title, or ISBN in the box, and click Go.
- Click Browse by Discipline, select a discipline (for example, English or Math), select a publisher from the second drop-down box, and click Go.
- STEP 3 - On the Select Course Materials page, review the list of available master courses and click Select Course Materials next to the course you want.
- STEP 4 - On the Enter Course Information page, type in the required information and click Create Course Now.
- STEP 5 - When the Confirmation - Request Received page appears, review the course information.
Depending on the number of course creation requests in the MyLab / Mastering queue and the size of the course material you selected, creating the course may take as little as an hour or up to one day. While you are waiting, you do not need to stay connected to the Internet. However, if you want to, you can:
- Click Create or Copy Another Course to create another course.
- Click Back to your Courses page to continue working in MyLab / Mastering while you wait for the course to appear in your Courses area.
- Click Sign Out to exit MyLab / Mastering.
- Please note the Course ID*
How to copy an existing standard or member course:
- STEP 1 - On the "MyLab / Mastering courses" page, click Create/Copy Course under "MyLab / Mastering New Design."
- STEP 2 - On the "Create or Copy a Course" page, select Copy a Course, and do one of the following:
- Click Copy one of your existing courses, select the course from the dropdown list, and click Go.
- Click Copy another instructor's course, enter the Course ID, and click Go.
- STEP 3 - On the Select Course Components page, select the components you want to copy into the new course and click Continue.
- STEP 4 - On the Enter Course Information page, type in the required information and click Create Course Now.
- STEP 5 - When the Confirmation - Request Received page appears, review the course information.
- Please note the Course ID*
*Important: Your students will need your Course ID to join your course. Please distribute the Course ID to your students.
