How will an instructor adopt and register into MyNursingLab?
Instructors should notify their local sales representative that they will be ordering MyNursingLab for their classes. Instructors should then go to www.pearsoned.ca/mynursinglab.html, click on New user: Instructors and follow the on-screen prompts.
Will MyNursingLab handle multiple sections?
Yes.
Is it possible to create one 'coordinator course' in MyNursingLab so that other instructors can base their own courses (lessons, quizzes, etc) off of that main course?
Yes.
Can the Program Coordinator control which functionality that instructors of the course have?
Yes. Coordinator may designate two levels of "authority": instructor and TA and assign different permissions to each level.
How much does MyNursingLab cost?
The best price for your MyNursingLab access code is available packaged with your course textbook. You can also order access codes on-line.
How long does a student account last for? Can they use it for two semesters? What about students continuing into a second or third semester of the course if they've already purchased an access code, will they need to purchase another one?
One purchase of MyNursingLab gives the student 4 years of access from the time of redemption of the access code. If s/he skips a semester, the same access code may be used, provided it is within the 4 year period.
How will students register for MyNursingLab?
After purchasing access, student should go to www.pearsoned.ca/mynursinglab.html, click on New user: Students, and follow on-screen prompts.
Are students automatically entered in the instructor's gradebook when they enroll in the class?
Yes.
How will instructors and students access MyNursingLab?
After registering for the first time, both students and instructors should go to www.pearsoned.ca/mynursinglab.html, click on Returning Users, and enter the username and password that s/he created during the registration process to log in.
Is there a site license available for MyNursingLab?
No. There is no need for a MyNursingLab license. Access is free to instructors who adopt MyNursingLab for their courses. Student access is purchased for 4 years.
Can and instructor view his/her course as a student?
Yes. MyNursingLab has a "Student View" button on the course toolbar. This enables instructors to enter the course as a student and experience the course from the student perspective. No additional access code is needed.
What types of notifications or alerts to I receive regarding the information tracked in my course?
Multiple alerts are available. After you log in, all of the alerts will be displayed on Today's View.
What content is included within MyNursingLab?
Students have access to a variety of study materials, depending upon the course content. Included in all versions of MyNursingLab is a customized Study Plan for each chapter, including a Pre-Test, Study Material, and a Post-Test. Other study resources include an Audio Glossary for every chapter, Test Your Terminology quizzes, and Skills Videos.
How is the content organized within MyNursingLab?
By chapter and section of chapter to facilitate ease of making assignments. Assign one activity, a group of activities or the entire folder!
Can I create and/or add my own content into MyNursingLab?
Yes. There are 18 question types from which to choose, when creating your own activities in MyNursingLab. In addition you can add or create several files types (see below).
What content is assignable? Can I assign due dates?
All publisher content in MyNursingLab can be assigned. Making assignments in MyNursingLab is easy and flexible! Assignments can be made with or without due dates. Items can be assigned one at a time or in groups.
What kind of tests can I create in MyNursingLab?
In MyNursingLab you can create printed tests or tests that can be delivered and completed online.
What kind of reports will be available in MyNursingLab?
A wide variety of reports based either on individual activity data or on student data can be created.
