Passages |

Passages is a complete FSL program for students in Grades 7-9, which provides the flexibility to
respond to the needs of individual teachers and students. Students using Passages in the classroom
will learn to establish personal strategies for language learning and to use and interpret language in
authentic context. It integrates communicative, experiential, linguistic, cultural and general language
learning goals, and brings the real world into the classroom through authentic representation of French.

There are six themes per grade level:
Passages 1 (Grade 7)
- toute la bande! (team sports, clubs, group activities)
- à l'antenne! (radio, television)
- vive les passe-temps! (hobbies)
- bon appétit! (snacks, health and nutrition)
- en plein air! (outdoor activities)
- bonnes vacances! (summer holidays)
Passages 2 (Grade 8)
- chacun son gout! (food)
- vive la musique! (music)
- faites vos jeux! (sports)
- partons à l'aventure! (school trips, excursions)
- à l'affiche! (movies)
- chacun son style! (personal style)
Passages 3 (Grade 9)
- plaisirs et loisirs (entertainment, leisure activities)
- les médias (radio, television, print media)
- les emplois (part-time jobs)
- le bon consommateur (consumerism)
- copains et copines (friends)
- pensons «vert»! (the environment)
