You can order Visages two ways: in Modular format (each theme separately) or in Magazine format (all themes together). The content of these two options are identical, the format is different. Please choose the format that best fits your teaching style.

MAGAZINE

Student Magazine:

• provide an abundance of songs, chants, rhymes, conversations and listening activities for each theme
• feature a variety of authentic voices and popular artists
• one CD or cassette per theme and quick access to each track for fast and efficient use
• a complete listing of all recordings is included

Posters (Visages 1 & 2):

• full-colour visuals introduce each theme and provide the context for the theme project

Teacher's Package:

• provides program overview, thematic profile charts, suggested teaching strategies, useful classroom vocabulary, tapescripts, and answer keys
• step-by-step teaching commentaries, cultural notes, reinforcement and extension suggestions, and a wealth of communicative activities
• also included are reproducible Blackline Masters:
  • fiches de base : activities to accompany and support the core program
  • fiches de progrès : recording masters to assist in ongoing assessment
  • fiches de musique : sheet music to accompany the theme songs

Teacher Language Cassettes:

• pronunciation of the theme vocabulary, sample sentences and language structures

Langue et pratique :

• Supplementary exercises linked to the Student Magazine and Workbook (Plus)
• For each theme, over 20 exercises and activities including:

Ontario Assessment Package:

• One teacher package for each of Visages 1, 2 & 3
• Makes connections between Visages and the Ontario Core French Curriculum, Grades 4-8 (1998)
• Achievement level rubrics customized to each suggested Visages assessment activity
• Visages activities (tasks) used for evaluation are linked to:
  • The expectations in the strands of oral communication, reading and writing
  • The four categories of knowledge and skills: communication, comprehension, organization of ideas, and application of language knowledge
  • The four performance levels of achievement for each activity

National Assessment Package

• One teacher package for each level of Visages 1, 2 and 3
• Fold-out charts detailing assessment activities, criteria, learning outcomes and achievement levels
• Each theme has special rubrics specific to the final project
• In Visages 1 & 2 packages, charts are provided for Option A and Option B
• Reproducible record charts for easy tracking and recording students' performance in each strand
• Steps are included to support teachers with Assessment and Evaluation
• Tools are provided to help teachers assess student performance

• For a small class, you'll need a Teacher's Kit, one Student Edition and Workbook per student
