Predictograms use the title, pictures, words, or phrases from selections to help students predict what the selections might be about.

Maps and Organizers provide opportunities to begin looking at how texts are organized and to examine relationships and ideas between and within selections. Mapping a selection is one way to assess students’ understanding of a particular text.
