Summary |
 |
| |
This text is designed for a one- or two-term course in Advanced Financial Accounting.
Advanced Financial Accounting is the product of over 20 years of teaching and writing experience by two of Canada's most prolific accounting authors. The book takes a practical, user-friendly approach to advanced topics in accounting. Basic concepts are introduced at the beginning of each chapter and are then supported by extensive examples throughout.
Reviewers have universally praised the book's coverage of consolidations, with many lauding it as the best on the market. The authors' approach to consolidations involves the use of direct calculations of the relevant balances using conceptually based definitions. This approach provides students with a better understanding of the procedures that are being used in the preparation of consolidated financial statements. It is also a favourable alternative to the worksheet approach for students who must deal with consolidated financial statements on professional examinations.
