For users of Simply Accounting 8.5, regular or standard version (not PRO)

We have learned that the Template files included with the regular or standard version of Simply Accounting 8.5 were the PRO version of the files. This means that you cannot open these files with the regular or standard version of the program. We have therefore provided on this site a set of Template files that you can use with Simply Accounting Version 8.5 to complete Chapter 6 of Using Simply Accounting Versions 8.0 and 8.5. Download these files to your own computer and use them instead of the Skeleton files with your program. We have added the Integration Plus template files as well, in case you want to look at or use them.

If you have an earlier version of the Simply Accounting program (e.g., version 8.0 or 7.0), you can use the skeleton template file from it instead. Make a copy of this file before you try to open it with the Simply 8.5 program. When you open the earlier version file with Version 8.5, you will be asked if you want to update the file and if you want to make a backup first. The backup at this stage will be a Version 8.5 backup that you cannot use with the older versions of Simply Accounting so you should make the backup before converting the files. Choose No (i.e., do not make a backup) then click OK to proceed with the conversion.
