Soups are one of the most popular dishes in nearly every country. And it's no wonder, since soups are quick and simple to prepare, and cleanup is a breeze. Plus, they're healthful (very little fat is required to make a satisfying soup) and economical, adapting easily to whatever ingredients, however humble, you may have at hand. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Cooking Soups Canadian-Style provides all the basics and much more.

Some things you'll find in this book include:

  • over 100 delicious recipes for hot and cold soups, chowders, bisques, purées, and consommés
  • single-pot soup meals inspired by recipes from around the world
  • illustrations to demonstrate various techniques in the kitchen
  • ideas for interesting combinations of spices and herbs
  • tips for buying and storing the most commonly used items

No matter what kind of soup you're looking for—light and delicate, warming and robust, smooth and creamy, cool and refreshing-you'll find them all in this book.
