Chapter 3 Organizing Information-Internet Exercise

Examine a number of different Web sites to find one example of technical writing directed at more than one reader. Common examples of this type of technical writing include annual reports, white papers, technical reports, and newsletters found at corporations, schools, and professional societies. Please complete the following questions:

  1. To what extent is the document organized so that different readers can quickly retrieve the information they need?
  2. Is important information placed at the beginnings and endings, or scattered throughout?
  3. How well or poorly does the document repeat key points?
