Chapter 8 E-mail and Memos-Internet Exercise
Choose ONE of the following three assignment options. For each option, please use the guidelines for
memos and e-mails in Chapter 7.
- Visit two Web sites that explain how a particular process, device, or program works. E-mail
to your instructor a one page neutral memo that summarizes the procedure.
- Visit two Web sites to research why a particular system, type of equipment, or procedure is
best for a certain application. E-mail to your instructor a one page sales memo that could
persuade a decision maker to adopt the product, idea, or service.
- Visit the Web sites of two travel agencies to research a trip you want to take for spring
break. In your research, please consider factors such as the cost of accommodations, direct
flights, and entertainment. Choose ONE of the following memo types:
- E-mail to your instructor a one page negative memo that indicates you cancelled
the trip because it is too expensive.
OR
- E-mail to your instructor a one page positive memo that indicates the trip will
proceed because it is affordable.
